Tooth troubles

Kye has had a loose tooth the past few weeks. He refused to let me pull it. Last night as we went to bed, it was barely hanging on. Then at 3:30 we were awakened by Kye crying and telling us he wasn't going to get his tooth fairy money because he had swallowed his tooth. This was his first tooth he'd lost. You can imagine what a big deal it was especially at 3:30 in the morning.
We quickly wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy and he cried himself back to sleep. He was all smiles and so happy this morning to find that the Tooth Fairy accepted our note without the missing tooth! Maybe next time he'll let me pull it!

More Pics

We really don't do family photos that often but my friend Jen is leaving me and moving to Wyoming. (I'm so sad!) She is an amazing photographer so we had her take our pictures at the beach. I love the pictures, despite the fact that it happened to be a rare cold and windy day!

'Tis the Season

I have been a bit of a Grinch this year....it's hard to get into the season in 70 degree weather! So we just barely got our tree. The kids had a blast decorating and it really got us all in the Christmas mood.

Time is Slipping By....

It hit me the other day that we are already half way through the first year of Lola's life! How sad! I can't believe how time flies. I told Todd that I'm never as happy as when I have a baby. He said that worries him because most of our lives it will just be the 2 of us. I just wish I could slow time down!

Give Thanks

Our family had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ashton helped Grandma Linda with the cooking.

We exchanged Christmas gifts since we will not be seeing the Welkers for Christmas and ,oh boy, did we get spoiled! Aunt Kristi gave Ashton a Nintendo DS and Kye new games for his DS. They both love getting spoiled by Aunt Kristi!

Grandma and Grandpa gave us a Wii and I don't think Kye stopped playing it the whole time we were there. We'll definitely have to set some limitations !

The kids LOVE Granny Helen!

We all felt grateful that Addi finally came home after her open-heart surgery. She is the sweetest little baby. She is so patient and hardly ever cries despite all she has been through. She is truly a blessing and you feel close to heaven just being near her.

The kids had so much fun. They all cried when we left. They love being at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We're so grateful for them and just look at those cute new clothes from Grandma. Can I say spoiled just one more time?

Family Photos

Last month while visiting Utah we had our family photos done. My friend Amy did them. She did a great job! I'm sure it's hard to do that many people but she handled it like a pro.

My Birthday

Todd decided that Lola is a true Brown when he saw her devouring this pickle. She is such a funny little eater. I think she likes the discovery of it all.

Everything Disneyland does is over the top! Just look at the amazing Christmas decor!

So yes, it is true, I am one year older. I never imagined myself at this age but here I am. I still feel like I'm 20 yet I know I'm not. Time is quickly passing by. Each birthday comes faster and faster.

We had such a great day! Lola loved the characters. It was so cute. There were no lines and by 3 p.m. we had already been on every ride and done all we wanted to at both parks. It was definitely my kind of day.

Almost Famous

Anyone that knows me well knows that I'm a reality TV junkie so today I was excited to get on the Disneyland tram and see Terrence and Sarah from my favorite show. They just lost this past week on "The Amazing Race". They were out in L.A. doing press conferences and decided to come to Disneyland. They were so nice and told us all about being on the show. Being the big nerd I am, I asked if we could get a picture with them. So here's my picture with someone who's "almost famous". We saw them later in the park and they had met up with Ty, Aja and Bill from the show. I always tell Todd I want to be on The Amazing Race but I know if Todd and I were on all of America would feel sorry for Todd because I'm so bossy!

Grandma & Grandpa Smith

One of the best things about living in San Diego is that everyone loves to vacation here. So we get a lot of visitors. My grandparents came down to stay in Newport Beach with my grandma's siblings. We were able to spend a fun afternoon with them. Kye really wanted them to sleep at our house. I guess they'll just have to come again and spend the night!

a little freaked out...

Yesterday afternoon, I was inside our apartment with Lola and the kids were outside playing with the neighbor kids. Suddenly, I heard a helicopter flying close by overhead. They were anouncing over a loud speaker that everyone should go inside their homes and lock the doors because they were conducting a man search. They then went on to give description of the suspect. I, of course, did as instructed. My kids went in to play at the neighbors and I watched, from our balcony,as about 30 policemen, firemen and EMT's converged on an apartment 100 yards from mine. I kept waiting and watching. Soon the police were searching all around and the local news teams all showed up. To make a long story short, one of my neighbors was sexually assaulted. She was entering her apartment when a stranger came up behind her with a knife. He came in, bound her and assaulted her. This all happened in broad daylight near a busy street. It's so scary! The police came by today to see if we had seen anything. I wish I had. Despite having a good description, they have not caught the guy. I feel so sorry for the woman. What a horrible thing to experience. It's been disturbing for all of us on so many levels. We live in a really nice area and I've always felt quite safe but now I'll be alot more careful. I'm going to get me some mace.

Halloween

Captain Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swan

The wicked witch (fitting isn't it?) and her black cat

While living in Utah I worked as a hair and make-up artist on local films. One film was a documentary on the Revolutionary War. I have tons of make-up left over from the film so we really made Kye up. It's hard to tell in this photo but we gave him some scabs (just like Capt. Jack) and made him look dirty. Don't you wish every day was Halloween?

If real cats were as cute as this one I just might be tempted to get one!

Halloween Fun

We love all things Halloween around our house. From the cupcakes to the jack-o-lanterns, we had a great time!
