Pioneer Day

We went to the Spaniah Forks Fiesta Days rodeo. It was a first for Todd, Ash and Kye. They all loved it! The kids cheered for our friends who rode in the rodeo. They also enjoyed the mutton busting and loved the clown performance. I think Todd enjoyed the food more than anything else.

This is our friend Kaycee Field riding bareback. I used to babysit him so I guess that makes me really old!

On Pioneer Day we met the cousins at Discovery Park. Ashton had been dying to go there with Lucy and Millie. The kids all had a blast despite the 100 degree weather!

Little Bug

A recent study showed that when a mother sees her own baby smile an endorphin is released into her brain. The effect of that endorphin is similar to that of a recreational drug. No wonder I feel so happy lately!

For some reason Lola's nickname has become "little bug". I have no idea why. It's just our term of endearment for her. She is anything but little. She just had her 2 month visit with the Dr. and she weighs 12.5 lbs and is 24 inches long. That puts her in the 90th percentile for weight and 95th for height. We love all her little fat rolls!

The West Fork

70 years ago my great-grandpa Okelberry built a cabin in the high Uintahs. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world! Camping up there has become a family tradition. We rode up on the 5th and had a wonderful time. Thanks to my mom and dad for coming to get us once the roads got to snowy for our car. Yes, there is still snow blocking the roads up there!

The 4th of July

We were this close to Miley Cyrus! OK so our seats were pretty high up but we still had a blast!

Ashton and I went to the Stadium of Fire for the 4th. We had a blast! Todd took Kye and Lola miniature golfing so that Ash and I could have a girls night out. He's such a great dad!

Oh Canada!

Kye woke up on the 4th of July and came down stairs for breakfast already dressed. Ashton told him what he was wearing was not good enough because on the 4th of July you're supposed to wear red, white and blue. He thought about this for a minute and then said "I have the perfect shirt." When he came back downstairs, minutes later, wearing this shirt Todd and I cracked up laughing. Clearly Kye didn't think it was so funny!

Kendall Kampout

30 years ago my great- grandparents started a family reunion, fondly referred to as the Kendall Kampout. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of the Kampout. It has grown to over 200 people. This year we all went up Cottonwood Canyon and camped for 5 days. The kids had so much fun and we were lucky enough to stay in a lodge up at Brighton with Lola. I know some of my kids greatest memories will also be of the Kendall Kampout. What a great legacy!

Lola and Grandpa Mark had a great time!
This moose wandered right through our camp.

Wonder Woman

This is my sister Hayley a.k.a. Wonder Woman. I never gave her the credit for doing my blog the 1st 2 weeks after Lola was born. All of you thought I was so on top of it to get pictures on my blog so quickly but no, it was all Hayley. Not only was she doing my blog, her own and my other sister Emily's (who also had a newborn). She was working full time as a night nurse, caring for her 3 small children, and training for a triathalon. She is the most capable person I know. She is truely an inspiration to me.

Everyone Loves Lola

Kye took this picture
and Ash took this one

I can't imagine another baby out there who is so adored. Lola gets kissed about 100 times a day! We are all so happy she has joined our family. She is such a joy! She has gained so much weight. She is a little butterball. Who ever would have thought that such fat thighs could be so cute?
